I am an educator because I want to positively impact the lives of others. Outside of the classroom, I have striven and will continue to strive to promote systemic change for more equitable access to learning and learning tools. I believe that if we are to truly bridge the 'digital divide' we must work to develop solutions that are affordable and sustainable. In the past I have worked individually with low-income recent immigrants to improve access to technology within their communities. In the future I would like to help implement systems that provide equitable, meaningful access for all K-16 students. Further, my two primary foci, language acquisition and technology, will be at the crux of future educational paradigms which provide greater equity for participants of all backgrounds. It is my goal, therefore, to direct the creation and implementation of policy relating to these two issues.
